This set will cut 22.5° miters to make 45° joints. Put a 45 joint in place of a 90° angle to soften a sharp look. Then, you can cover the new surface with a column for added beauty. Great for 8 sided projects such as planters. 2-flute carbide cutters and 1/2 in. shanks. Set comes in a solid wood storage case. 22.5 lock miter router bits allow you to join boards at a 45° angle. The interlocking 22.5° cuts will produce extremely strong joints without having to struggle to keep the boards in place during clamping. Additionally, it will provide extra gluing surface resulting in an extremely strong and durable joint. Unlike a traditional 90° lock miter bit, this joint requires the use of 2 matching profile to achieve the joint. This set is also much easier to setup and use than standard lock miter bits.
